It’s only fitting as we approach Holy Week to meditate and embrace the sufferings that our dearly beloved Lord endured for love of us.
For some of us it may just be little things that hold us captive to anger, impatience, criticism and ungratefulness .
To others, it may the death of a loved one or battling with an illness, depression and hopelessness.
Suffering is Redemptive ,if we welcome and embrace it.
We can learn from Jesus, His endurance and surrender won Him the crown of glory and salvation for His beloved children ..
-You and I-
Yet, we saw His humaneness in the Garden of Gethsemane when He sweated drops of blood and we too in our own suffering, sweat drops of blood and fear.
We make a mountain of our fears and anxieties and allow the boulders to crush us.
Jesus vanquishes the devil when he says to the Father –
“Not my will but yours be done”(Lk 22:42)
“We don’t reach salvation without crossing the strong seas continually threatened with disasters.
Calvary is the hill of the saints, but from there we pass on to another mountain which is Tabor ” (Padre Pio)
Let us, in this Holy Week unite and rejoice in our sufferings and journey with Jesus to Calvary knowing that, if we offer it to Him , we too will gain the crown of glory and share in His victory of new life for-
– You and I –
