Another year has gone and we enter 2017 with anticipation, dreams and fear.
What will this year bring? Our minds are crowded with thoughts and feelings of uncertainties , yet the one thing we forget is that God’s Sanctifying Grace will help us through this battle field of life.
A battle against sickness, violence, financial problems and fear for our families and friends, but yet God promised–“My Grace is sufficient for you.”
How many times we forget this and fall prey to doubt and desolation.
In the Catholic Dictionary it defines “Sanctifying Grace as a habitual gift, a stable disposition that perfects the soul itself, to enable it to live with God, to act by his love”
I’m sure that many of us can identify with this type of grace when we look back and wondered how on earth we survived the many challenging circumstances we found ourselves in.
What is grace, can we explain this virtue?
Can we touch grace; can we hold it in our hands?
“Sanctifying Grace is the Supernatural state of being infused by God, which permanently exists the soul and is a vital principle of a human being’s natural life and belongs to the whole soul, mind, will and affections.
It is not a substance but a real quality that becomes part of the souls substance.
It is a constant Supernatural Quality of the soul, which sanctifies a person permanently and makes him or her just and pleasing to God.”
It is only in God and through God that we endure, are given strength and come out whole. It’s because we are under the influence of this Supernatural quality that we can survive.
“The Broken Jar Made Beautiful Once again”
God is calling you today to enter into the abundance of grace offered to you and through these graces you can overcome the power of darkness and live in His divine presence.
May this New Year empower you to cross over from darkness to light and hold fast to your faith that was built on solid ground.
